Clear Cache and Junk files
One of the simple methods which can be used to save a lot of space. There’ll be a lot of caches and junk files which are totally of no use and by following this method you can clear it full.
Open the ‘run’ box and type ‘.temp’ and run search. Now a bunch of files will appear on your screen and now select them all and delete them.
Similarly repeat the same process with different words. Instead of ‘.temp’ type ‘%temp%’ and ‘prefetch’ and delete the files. It’ll save you a lot of space.
Unwanted Update files
After every Windows update there’ll be some leftover junk files hiding in the provided folder. To delete them follow these steps
Go to your C drive, choose Windows and then Software Distribution. From there pick the Windows update files and go to downloads. Delete the contents of the folder which are totally of no use.
You’ll be saving a lot of space by following this procedure too.
Here goes the third tip, based on Disc cleanup. Search for Disc Cleanup in the search tab of your Pc. There’ll be a lot of files there and except downloads mark everything and press delete.
Clear the system files and then another pop-up appears on the screen and again clear these except the downloads part. It may take some time but the wait is worth it.
Hard Drive Optimization
This is a very simple step to boost the performance and reaction speed of your harddrive. Search for “Defragmentation” in the search box. Select all the contents and optimise it boost the performance of your Pc.
Turn off startup Programs
There’ll be a lot of programs running in the background whenever you turn on your PC. This will consume a lot of RAM while startup which are totally unwanted ones.
So you can disable and stop these programs to run in the background while starting your PC by following these steps.
Go to task manager and click on startup. Here you can find the list of programs and disable the ones by clicking on them. You can choose what all programs you need at the startup and disable others.
Another major bug found in the PCs include those which run in the background while the PC is running. These can be stopped by proceeding with the following steps.
On the ‘run’ box search for ‘misconfig’ and press enter. Now go to the services tab and there you can find a lot of marked items.
Now unmark the things you don’t want like old softwares, their services and stuff and then click apply.
Uninstall unused Softwares
Just like your mobile phone, your PC also has some unwanted and unused Softwares which could be deleted if there aren’t any further use with them.
So for doing this, Go to the apps section, and here you can find the rarely used softwares and applications. You can simply delete them from here.
Turn off extra animations
This may sound like a complex step but once done, it’ll really help in boosting the graphic performance of your PC.
First of all Go to My computer, then properties and then to system properties. Here you can find the advanced settings and choose performance options.
Choose adjust for best performance and hit apply.
Tweaking power plan
Similar to your phone’s battery problem, your PC especially when you are using a Laptop, this tip will help you save a lot of power consumed and drained by unwanted.
It’s a bit of an advanced step and at first I go to settings and choose the system.
You’ll see the sleep and power tab here, now move on to additional settings then to high performance and then processor power management.
You can find some boxes here and make sure everything under the processor power management tab is 100%.
Software to optimise
You can always go for an external software to clear the space and boost the performance of your PC.
But compared to getting it done manually all the softwares isn’t very reliable.
